Kearsten Lyon founded Toronto Movement Therapy in 2016 after working for nearly 8 years clinically as a Physical Therapy Assistant and Rehabilitation Aide to Physiotherapy and Chiropractic Professionals.
 
TMT is a completely private, trauma informed and accessible Pilates and movement studio located on the Danforth near Broadview Ave.
 
We offer 1:1 Movement Therapy and Movement Coaching to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and a return to life, group class and sport.

Accessibility

• There is an elevator.
• All doors in the studio are wheelchair and stroller accessible.
• Lighting can all be completely customized for light sensitivities and brain injuries.
• We have solid core doors and insulation between our walls to create as sound sensitive a space as possible. 
• We are a scent free environment, absolutely no cologne or perfume please!
• We wash all laundry in house with fragrance free natural detergent.
• We cannot guarantee a sterile environment but recommend all clients who are actively ill stay home to protect our immunocompromised clients.
• We use an all natural cleaner called Benefect Decon 30 which kills all germs but Tuberculosis.
• Trauma Informed: We are aware of how traumatic experiences affect the body, how the state of the nervous system affects movement and function and your ability to receive treatment.  We know how to hold space for you if you feel triggered, scared or emotional and can help you feel grounded and resourced before the end of your session.
• We are passionate about creating a safer space for all of our clients and guests.
